Heavy rains caused record-setting flooding across most of Lake County. The rains began just before noon on Thursday, July 27th and continued on and off until daybreak Friday, July 28th. In a matter of 17 hours, 8-12 inches of rain fell across the entire county. Flood stage for the Grand River in Painesville is 8 feet. River levels reached 17.6 feet early Friday morning. Major flooding was reported in Wickliffe, Willoughby, Mentor, Painesville, Perry, Madison, Grand River and Fairport Harbor. Notice the image above.
