A line of strong to severe thunderstorms moved thru Northern Ohio during the evening of Wednesday, October 6. Most of the storms stayed below severe limits, however, severe thudnerstorms Warnings were issued for Coshocton, Medina, & Summit Counties between 7 pm & 8 pm. Damaging winds downed 6 trees and flattened a corn field near Seville in Southern Medina County. Power of 5 Live Doppler Network Radar captured the wind damage as it was occuring just after 7:30 pm. Notice the red squares in the center of the first image. This is a velocity image that clearly shows winds in excess of 58 miles per hour occuring near Seville. The second image is the radar reflectivity image. Notice the area of high winds corresponds to a small area of lighter precipitation in the center of the image. Winds that are crashing to the ground often produce this type of weak relectivity pattern often called a "donut hole."
