Unlike November 2002, we have been spared any tornadic storms so far across our viewing area. Unfortunately, this hasn't been the case with some of our neighbors.

A brief tornado touchdown was reported in extreme southern Ohio near Georgetown and Russellville in Brown county just after 7 am on November 6.

A more intense tornado moved over 40 miles across northern Kentucky and southern Indiana earlier that morning.

It was an F3 tornado with estimated peak winds of 200 mph. The tornado touched down 2 miles NNW of Smith Mills, Kentucky and travelled across the Ohio River and went south of I-164 in Evansville, Indiana. The tornado occurred between 1:30 and 2:30 am, injured at least 200 people and killed 23 people. Over 100 homes and buildings were destroyed or severely damaged. A possible tornado struck Hamilton, Ontario Canada on November 9. Severe winds tore parts of the roof off a Hamilton elementary school and caused damage to several other buildings, injuring several people including children. (Source: Global National, Canada.com)
